CBSE Answer Sheet Portal Down! Student Anxiety Rises; Deadline Extended, But...

Newspoint

Due to technical glitches with the CBSE answer sheet portal, Class 12 students are unable to submit their applications. Their frustration regarding this issue is clearly visible across social media platforms.

For Class 12 students of the CBSE Board, these days seem to be raising more questions than answers. The online portal, launched by CBSE to allow students to obtain copies of their evaluated answer sheets, is turning into a major headache for them. On May 19, the Board announced that students would be able to apply for copies of their checked answer booklets; however, many students encountered a "Service Unavailable" message on the portal. This situation persisted on May 20 as well. Students took to social media to share their grievances, stating that the link was not opening at all.

In the meantime, offering some relief, CBSE has extended the application deadline from May 22 to May 23. However, students argue that a one-day extension is insufficient, given that the portal remains inaccessible for several hours at a stretch, preventing them from submitting their applications. Students have demanded an extension of at least one week to ensure that everyone gets an equal opportunity. Nevertheless, the portal currently continues to display a "Site is Under Updation" message.

Essentially, in this phase, CBSE has initiated the process solely for providing copies of the evaluated answer sheets. This means students will first review their answer sheets; subsequently, if they identify any discrepancies, they can proceed to apply for verification of marks or re-evaluation in the next phase. According to the Board's scheduled timeline, applications for the verification of marks, reporting of errors, and re-evaluation are scheduled to be accepted between May 26 and May 29.

What Did the Board Say?

The Board has also clarified that if a student identifies any discrepancy after reviewing their answer sheet, they may submit an application on the designated dates. A team of experts will then re-examine the answer sheet. Following this process, the student's marks may either increase or decrease.

The Difficulties Students Are Facing

Currently, the primary predicament facing students is this: if the portal itself is not opening, how are they supposed to submit their applications? Many students wrote that more than 24 hours have passed, yet the link is not working. Some students also stated that, despite repeated attempts, the site either fails to open or shuts down midway.
