Dharmendra Pradhan Quits as Education Minister Following NEET Paper Leak Controversy
In a significant political development, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Saturday tendered his resignation after days of nationwide protests over the NEET paper leak.
In a post on social media, Pradhan said he had submitted his resignation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He stated that he chose to step down to prevent “anti-national forces" from spreading confusion and taking advantage of the situation.
Pradhan's resignation had been the primary demand of the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), which has been leading a large-scale protest at Delhi's Jantar Mantar for more than a month. Discussions between the CJP and the Centre had remained deadlocked, with the party insisting on Pradhan's resignation as a key condition.
