NBEMS recruitment 2026: Registration to begin on July 7 for 53 vacancies; check eligibility and steps to apply

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences ( NBEMS ) has revised the application schedule for its recruitment drive announced under the advertisement dated June 2, 2026. Due to administrative reasons, the online application process will now begin on July 7, 2026, instead of the earlier schedule.

Eligible candidates will be able to submit their application forms through the official NBEMS website until July 31, 2026.

Vacancy details

The recruitment drive aims to fill 53 vacancies across different posts. These include:

  • Deputy Director (Medical): 2 posts
  • Junior Programmer: 1 post
  • Junior Accountant: 4 posts
  • Stenographer: 7 posts
  • Junior Assistant: 39 posts (including one backlog vacancy for the Scheduled Tribe category)

The board has also stated that the number of vacancies may increase, decrease, or be withdrawn without prior notice.

Eligibility criteria

Candidates must meet the educational qualification and age limit prescribed for the post they are applying for.

  • Deputy Director (Medical): Recognised postgraduate medical qualification; maximum age 35 years.
  • Junior Programmer: Bachelor of Technology (BTech), Bachelor of Engineering (BE), Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA), Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics or equivalent qualification; below 27 years.
  • Junior Accountant: Bachelor's degree with Mathematics, Statistics or Commerce; below 27 years.
  • Stenographer: Class 12 pass with shorthand and typing skills; age 18 to 27 years.
  • Junior Assistant: Class 12 pass with computer proficiency; below 27 years.

Application fee

Candidates belonging to the General, Other Backward Classes (OBC), and Unreserved (UR) categories will have to pay an application fee of Rs 1,500 plus 18% Goods and Services Tax (GST).

Candidates from the Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD), and women categories are exempted from paying the application fee. Bank processing charges will be applicable separately.

Selection process

The selection process will include a Computer Based Test (CBT) Stage I followed by a Computer Knowledge/Skill Test (Stage II) for applicable posts.

For Group B and Group C posts, there will be no interview. The final merit list for Junior Accountant, Stenographer and Junior Assistant posts will be prepared based on candidates' performance in both stages of the examination.
