NEET UG re-exam 2026: Check states providing free bus travel for candidates on June 21

As the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) 2026 re-examination approaches, several state governments have announced free travel facilities for candidates appearing for the test on June 21. The initiative aims to help students reach their examination centres comfortably and without any additional travel expenses.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is scheduled to conduct the NEET UG re-exam on June 21 after the earlier examination held on May 3 was cancelled due to allegations of paper leaks and other irregularities.

Here is a list of states that have announced free travel support for NEET UG candidates.

Odisha

The Odisha government has announced free bus travel for all NEET UG re-exam candidates across the state.

According to the government, around 56,983 candidates appearing at 134 examination centres will benefit from the facility. The decision was taken to reduce the risk of heat-related problems, support students from economically weaker backgrounds, and ensure smooth travel on exam day.

Candidates will be able to use the facility through Odisha State Road Transport Corporation (OSRTC) buses.

Andhra Pradesh

The Andhra Pradesh government has also announced free bus rides for students appearing for the NEET UG re-examination.

Transport Minister M Ramprasad Reddy said that candidates can travel free of cost on Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) buses on June 21, 2026.

Students only need to show their examination hall ticket while boarding the bus. No separate registration or additional documents are required.

Delhi

The Delhi government has announced free travel for NEET UG candidates in Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) buses.

Candidates can avail the facility by showing their admit cards on the day of the examination. The government said the initiative has been introduced to ensure that students do not face travel-related difficulties on an important examination day.

Punjab

The Punjab government has allowed NEET UG candidates to travel free in Punbus and Punjab Roadways Transport Corporation (PRTC) buses.

Students can use the facility between June 20 and June 22 by showing their admit cards, which will serve as a free travel pass.

Uttarakhand

The Uttarakhand government has also announced free travel for NEET UG candidates who are permanent residents of the state.
