NMC approves 50 more MBBS seats at GMC Srinagar, intake rises to 250 from 2026-27

Getting into Government Medical College (GMC), Srinagar is set to become slightly easier from the 2026-27 academic session. The National Medical Commission ( NMC ) has approved 50 additional Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) seats, taking the college's annual intake from 200 to 250.

The approval comes through a Letter of Permission (LoP) issued by the Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB) under Section 28(3) of the National Medical Commission Act, 2019, according to PTI.
