Railway Recruitment 2026: No Written Exam for 10th Pass Candidates, Apply Before Last Date

A railway job continues to be one of the most sought-after career options among young people in India. Along with job security, it also offers stable career growth and social prestige. Now, candidates preparing for railway jobs have a major opportunity, as the South East Central Railway (SECR) has announced a large-scale apprentice recruitment drive for 2026.

The recruitment notification has been released for 1,007 apprentice posts under the Nagpur Division and Motibagh Workshop. Interested candidates can apply online through the official apprenticeship portal.

Important Dates

The online application process began on May 19, 2026, and candidates can submit their forms till June 18, 2026. Applications are being accepted through Apprenticeship India Portal.


Applicants are also advised to regularly check SECR Official Website for updates related to the merit list and further procedures.

Vacancy Details

The recruitment drive includes apprentice positions in different trades under:
  • Nagpur Division
  • Motibagh Workshop
A total of 1,007 vacancies have been announced officially.


Eligibility Criteria

Candidates applying for the apprentice posts must fulfill the following conditions:
  • Must have passed Class 10 from a recognized board with at least 50% marks
  • Should possess an ITI certificate in the relevant trade approved by NCVT or SCVT
  • Candidates holding engineering degrees or diplomas are not eligible for these apprentice posts

Age Limit

Applicants should be between 15 and 24 years of age as of the prescribed cut-off date.

Age relaxation is applicable as per government rules:
  • OBC candidates: 3 years
  • SC/ST candidates: 5 years
  • PwBD candidates: 10 years

Selection Process

One of the biggest highlights of this recruitment is that there will be no written exam or interview.

Selection will be done purely on merit based on the average marks scored in:
  • Class 10
  • ITI course
If two candidates secure the same marks, preference will be given to the older candidate.

Stipend and Training

Selected candidates will undergo one year of apprenticeship training. During the training period, they will receive a monthly stipend according to Central Government apprenticeship rules.


While filling out the application form, candidates must choose their preferred unit between the Nagpur Division and Motibagh Workshop.
