Following the NEET controversy, a stir has been created in Thane, Maharashtra, due to the leak of the TET exam question paper, leading to the cancellation of the examination. The TET exam was scheduled for tomorrow, but reports confirmed that the question paper had been leaked approximately 24 hours prior. Although around 4 lakh candidates were expected to appear for the exam, the decision to cancel it has been made. A new date for the examination is likely to be announced in the coming days.

The Maharashtra State Council of Examination (MSCE), Pune, has postponed the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) 2026—originally scheduled for June 28, 2026—until further notice. The Council stated that the TET exam was to be held at 1,028 centers across the state. All necessary arrangements had been made, keeping in mind the alleged paper leak incidents associated with the NEET 2026 exam.

However, acting on a tip-off, the Bhiwandi police conducted a raid on Saturday morning. During the investigation, questions resembling those on the TET 2026 paper were found in the possession of certain individuals.

Subsequently, officials from the Maharashtra State Council of Examination conducted an immediate inquiry and confirmed that some questions matched the actual exam paper. An FIR regarding this matter has been registered at the Bhiwandi police station.

**Exam Postponed**

The Council emphasized that conducting the examination in a completely transparent and fair manner is its top priority. Therefore, the TET exam scheduled for June 28, 2026, has been postponed pending a thorough investigation into the matter.

The decision to cancel the exam was taken following an investigation into the leaked paper seized in Thane.
