The comment quickly drew criticism online, with several users accusing the influencer of making light of a serious issue that affected lakhs of students.

Soon after the backlash, the post was deleted. However, screenshots of the exchange continued to circulate online.

People pointed out that the NEET paper leak controversy had deeply affected students and their families. One social media user wrote, "One student asked Elvish Yadav to speak about the NEET paper leak issue. This moron said that if you support him, he would get any exam paper leaked for you. He is openly promoting corruption."

"Doesn't he know how many families suffered because of the NEET paper leak? Doesn't he know how many students lost their lives due to the stress and consequences associated with the NEET paper leak? If you are a student, you should not support him," it added.

The post also drew a reaction from the social media account of Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), which wrote, "Sochiye Elvish Yadav khuleaam paper leak karwane ki baat kar raha hai phir bhi uski giraftari nahi ho rahi hai, na koi karwai." ("Just think about it, Elvish Yadav is openly talking about getting exam papers leaked, yet he has not been arrested and no action is being taken against him.")

Elvish Yadav has been involved in numerous controversies throughout his career, including the snake venom case, where he was arrested in March 2024 for allegedly procuring Cobra Krait snake venom as a recreational drug for rave parties, reportedly leading to 14-day judicial custody and Enforcement Directorate summons in July 2024.
