Uber introduces 'Uber Drift' experience for tourists in Tokyo
Uber has introduced a new limited-edition tourism experience in Japan, allowing visitors to experience the country's drifting culture from the passenger seat of professional racing cars.
Called "Uber Drift", the offering marks the Asia-Pacific debut of Uber's global "Go Anywhere" series, which features curated travel experiences available through the Uber app. Reservations for the experience will open on May 27, 2026, as reported by Travel + Leisure.

The half-day experience will take participants from Tokyo to the Mobara Twin Circuit in Chiba Prefecture. Guests will be picked up from their accommodation in an Uber Black van and transported to the track, where they will spend about 90 minutes taking part in tandem drift rides.
What the experience includes
To operate the programme, Uber has partnered with Formula Drift-licensed professional drivers. Participants will ride in vehicles including the Nissan Silvia S15 and Nissan 180SX, both closely associated with Japan's drifting scene.
The experience is designed for private groups of one to four people. Uber said only four groups will be able to participate each day. Each booking includes a set number of laps that can be shared among group members or used by a single participant.
Passengers will be required to wear long-sleeved clothing, full-length trousers and closed-toe shoes. Protective helmets will be provided at the circuit.
Uber Drift is priced at JPY 30,000 (about Rs 18,200) per group, regardless of whether one or four people participate.
Travellers can make reservations through the Uber app by selecting the Uber Drift option, choosing a date and time slot, entering the number of participants and providing pick-up and drop-off details. Booking confirmations will be sent by email.
The launch follows other travel experiences offered under Uber's "Go Anywhere" initiative, including Uber Safari, Uber Balloon and Uber Bubbles.
