Baahubali's Sathyaraj Set To Portray Antagonist In Salman Khan's ‘Sikandar': Report
Salman Khan 's announcement of his next film, ' Sikandar ,' has sparked a surge of excitement among fans. On Eid 2024, the actor disclosed that his collaboration with AR Murugadoss has secured the coveted Eid release slot for their upcoming project, unveiling its title. Rashmika Mandanna is confirmed to headline the cast, while reports suggest that Sathyaraj, renowned for his role in Baahubali , is poised to portray the antagonist.
In a recent interview, journalist-turned-producer Chithra Laksmanan revealed that South star Sathyaraj will take on the role of the antagonist in Salman Khan's upcoming film Sikandar. Salman himself took to Instagram to share the film's title slate, which reads, “Sajid Nadiadwala presents Salman Khan in and as Sikandar.” Alongside the title reveal, Salman extended wishes to this year's Eid releases, Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff's Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, and Ajay Devgn's Maidaan, while inviting everyone to meet him with Sikandar next Eid. He concluded with, “Iss Eid ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’ aur ‘Maidaan’ ko dekho aur agli Eid Sikandar se aa kar milo…. Wish u all Eid Mubarak!”
A R Murugadoss recently hinted at what's in store for the upcoming film in an interview with Times Of India. He teased, “In addition to high-octane action sequences, it will be packed with emotions and also carry a powerful social message. It will be a pan-India film. Audiences can expect to see a new kind of Salman Khan in this film.”
Wrapping up his remarks, Murugadoss added, “Salman and I had discussed this project five years ago, but due to circumstances, we couldn’t proceed at that time. Recently, he asked for another narration. After that, he said that the script gave him a good vibe and asked if we could start working on it immediately."
Meanwhile, Pinkvilla has disclosed that Sikander “will be shot in Portugal and other European countries apart from some portions in India on a huge budget of Rs 400 crore, making it the most ambitious film of Sajid Nadiadwala.”
