Bigg Boss OTT 3: Salman Khan's Absence Sparks Host Speculation – Sanjay Dutt, Anil Kapoor, Karan Johar In Talks
The imminent arrival of the much-awaited third season of Bigg Boss OTT is stirring excitement. Although the definitive roster of contestants remains under wraps, speculation abounds that the original host, Salman Khan , may not be helming the show this time. Allegedly, the producers are now courting other Bollywood luminaries to take up the reins of the reality program.
According to a source close to the production house who spoke to Pinkvilla, “Salman Khan is facing date issues; however, makers are keen on having him onboard.” The report also mentioned, “In case Khan’s schedule didn’t work out, makers have approached Sanjay Dutt , Anil Kapoor , and Karan Johar to host the show.”
Karan Johar previously hosted the first season of Bigg Boss OTT, while Sanjay Dutt took on hosting duties for Bigg Boss Season 5. Allegedly, Johar's schedule is occupied with ongoing shoots, and he is yet to convene with the show's makers. Similarly, Anil Kapoor's meeting with the team is still pending. Sanjay Dutt, however, is slated to meet with the producers imminently.
Karan Johar hosted the inaugural season of Bigg Boss OTT, with Divya Agarwal emerging as the victor. Salman Khan took over hosting duties for the second season, won by Munawar Faruqui. Although the host for Bigg Boss OTT 3 hasn't been officially announced yet, there were earlier reports suggesting that Vicky Jain, husband of Ankita Lokhande, might join the show independently of his actress-wife.
Previously, TellyChakkar and various news outlets reported that similar to previous seasons where Gauhar Khan, Hina Khan, and Siddharth Shukla served as mentors on Rubina Dilaik’s edition of Bigg Boss, Elvish, Manisha, and Abhishek are slated to take on mentorship roles for contestants in Bigg Boss OTT 3.
Contrary to the mentorship roles initially speculated, some reports have indicated that Elvish and Abhishek might host a dedicated segment on weekends, akin to Arbaaz and Sohail Khan's involvement in Bigg Boss 17. However, there hasn't been any official confirmation from either team regarding this development yet.
