Vikas Bahl Confirms Finalized Script For 'Queen 2' Starring Kangana Ranaut
A decade ago, the sleeper hit 'Queen,' starring Kangana Ranaut , graced the screens and swiftly garnered acclaim. It emerged as a trailblazing feminist film, portraying the journey of a girl who, following a heartbreak on the eve of her wedding, embarks solo on a European honeymoon. Since its release, fans eagerly anticipated news of a sequel to 'Queen.' Despite years of speculation, it wasn't until last year that director Vikas Bahl confirmed the sequel's development, with Kangana set to reprise her role as Rani. Reacting to the announcement, she enthusiastically took to Instagram, exclaiming, "Yessss (sic)."

During a recent interview with News18, Vikas discussed the film as it approaches its 10-year anniversary on March 7. “It is going to be ten years of Queen’s release but the number of people who keep asking me about Queen 2 makes me feel like the film released just yesterday! However, I am happy to say that we have actually finished writing our story. So, yes, the sequel should happen,” he expressed to News18.
Vikas also acknowledged the immense pressure of living up to the high standards set by Queen. While he recognized the potential for significant profits with a sequel, he emphasized the importance of not compromising on quality for the sake of expedience. “If I didn’t feel the pressure of matching up to the expectations that people have from the sequel, I would have already made it four years back just for money,” he admitted.
