According to ANI, Karisma Kapoor revealed that she was initially reluctant to do the series. She had declined the offer because she was concerned about how she would manage shooting in Kolkata for such an extended period. However, after meeting director Abhinay Deo and understanding the character's depth, she agreed to the project.

Speaking about her character, Rita Brown, in the series, Karisma said, "This character is broken on the inside but very strong on the outside. For me, this role was quite challenging and exciting." She also mentioned that having started working at a very young age, she now chooses projects based on her own preference; she only takes on roles that truly touch her heart.

The web series 'Brown' is directed by Abhinay Deo. It is a highly anticipated neo-noir psychological thriller set against the backdrop of Kolkata. The series is scheduled for release on June 5 and will premiere directly on the OTT platform ZEE5 in Hindi.
