Anime fandom in India is witnessing a record-breaking moment as Demon Slayer : Infinity Castle prepares for release with special 5 AM screenings . The film, adapted from the final arc of the manga, will be shown in both Japanese and English across IMAX and premium large formats. With bookings surging and several shows already sold out, this marks the widest anime release ever in India.


Historic Release in India

The Infinity Castle trilogy is generating unprecedented buzz in India, with advance bookings reflecting the anime’s massive popularity. According to reports, PVR has sold 25,000 tickets, Cinepolis 6,000, and BookMyShow has recorded over 65,000 bookings. The film will be screened in Japanese and English across more than 750 screens, making it the widest release for an anime film in India. Due to the strong response, cinema chains have introduced early morning shows, with screenings as early as 5:15 AM at Inox Megaplex in Pune and 5:20 AM at Cinepolis Seawoods in Navi Mumbai. Additional 6:30 AM and 6:40 AM shows are scheduled in Bengaluru and Delhi, catering to eager fans.


A Landmark for Anime in India


Trade analyst Taran Adarsh wrote on X: "‘DEMON SLAYER’ 5 AM SHOWS TO BE HELD IN MANY PARTS OF INDIA... #DemonSlayerInfinityCastle becomes the first-ever anime film to release with 5 am shows in #India, with tickets selling fast and several shows already sold out."


Box Office Expectations


With sold-out shows and additional screenings being added, Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Arc Part 1 is expected to perform strongly at the Indian box office. The limited theatrical run from September 12 to 14 in select theatres has only heightened anticipation, with fans flocking to secure their seats for this historic anime event.


Story of Demon Slayer Infinity Castle


Set in Taisho-era Japan, the series follows Tanjiro Kamado, who discovers his family slaughtered by demons, with his sister Nezuko turned into one herself. Driven by vengeance and compassion, Tanjiro joins the Demon Slayer Corps, undergoing fierce training to confront powerful demons threatening humanity. The Infinity Castle Arc represents the saga’s dramatic conclusion.
