According to Variety, "Inside Out 2" experienced a modest 35 percent drop from its impressive debut, marking the best performance ever for an animated film in its second weekend. This achievement also ranks it as the 7th best second weekend of all time, surpassing blockbusters like "Force Awakens," "Avengers: Endgame," "Avengers: Infinity War," "Black Panther," "Jurassic World," and "The Avengers."
With its box office haul exceeding $700 million, the Pixar sequel has already outperformed "Dune: Part Two," which grossed $711 million globally. The film is now on track to reach the coveted $1 billion milestone.
