BTS' J-Hope Keeps Spreading Kindness As His Military Discharge Draws Near
As BTS ’ J-Hope nears his military discharge , heartwarming stories about his kindness are surfacing. J-Hope, who enlisted in April last year, is currently serving as an assistant instructor at the 36th Infantry Division and will be discharged on October 17th.
Even while serving, J-Hope has remained committed to causes close to his heart. Recently, it was revealed that he’s been supporting a stray dog center in Imkok, Busan, for three years. In celebration of Chuseok, he donated pet food to the center.
A volunteer shared on a blog, “We are always grateful to BTS’s J-Hope, who never forgets to send food for the dogs. Before Chuseok, J-Hope’s mother reached out to discuss donating food again, and we’re incredibly thankful for the consistent support. The shelter’s staff even said they feel wealthy every time the food arrives.” The volunteer also noted that J-Hope’s contributions have significantly improved the center’s conditions.
Interestingly, J-Hope hadn’t intended for his charitable acts to become public, but the center requested to share his efforts. Back in 2022, he donated funds to build 10 dog shelters and has since made regular contributions.
In September 2023, J-Hope also sent a food truck to a volunteer site where abandoned animals were receiving spaying and neutering surgeries. His gesture brought smiles to those involved.
