ABVP Condemns Attack on Students, Seeks High-Level Committee on Competitive Exam Reforms
New Delhi, July 22: Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad ( ABVP ) condemned the attacks on students at Jantar Mantar and demanded that the government form a high-level committee to address the various grievances of students protesting over alleged discrepancies related to the NEET-UG examination . It also called for the students’ concerns to be addressed transparently through dialogue rather than violence.
For the past few weeks, the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), in collaboration with Sonam Wangchuk, has been protesting at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi against the alleged NEET paper leaks and the subsequent cancellation of the examination. Abhijeet Dipke, the founder of the Cockroach Janata Party, and his fellow protesters have been demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
The organisation also alleged that there had been deliberate attempts to orchestrate violence and disrupt public order. It condemned the incidents and expressed sympathy for the students and security personnel who were injured during the clashes. It also expressed hope that such incidents would not recur and reiterated that students’ legitimate grievances should be addressed through meaningful dialogue, empathy and institutional reforms.
It said it had continued to raise the issue in the interests of students from 2024 to the present and urged the Government of India to establish a high-level committee to undertake a comprehensive review of the integrity and transparency of competitive examinations, as well as the institutional reforms required. The committee, it said, should submit concrete, time-bound recommendations to improve the credibility and accountability of the examination system.
Solanki also raised concerns about student protests being used to advance various political agendas and stated that such efforts indirectly strengthened anti-national mechanisms such as the ‘deep state’. He further reiterated that the government should form a high-level committee to address students’ concerns and that their grievances should be resolved through dialogue and institutional reforms rather than violent uprisings.

Demand for Institutional Reforms
The organisation stated that it had consistently supported students over alleged irregularities in various competitive examinations, including NEET-UG. ABVP National General Secretary Dr Virendra Singh Solanki said that irregularities in various major examinations had caused deep concern among millions of students across the country.
