Amarnath Yatra security personnel martyred in terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir

Anantnag (Jammu and Kashmir): A police head constable deployed for security duties during the ongoing Amarnath Yatra was martyred after suspected terrorists opened fire in Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag district on Wednesday afternoon.

The incident occurred at around 12:30 pm in the Lal Chowk area of Anantnag. Head Constable Ashiq Hussain Qureshi, attached to the 3rd Battalion of the Jammu and Kashmir Indian Reserve (IR), was part of the security contingent deployed for the annual Amarnath Yatra when he came under a sudden terrorist attack.
