Understanding ATM Withdrawal Charges
The Reserve Bank of India ( RBI ) has mandated that banks can charge customers Rs 21 per transaction beyond the free limit. Generally, the first five transactions from your bank's ATMs are free. For other banks' ATMs, metro city customers get three free transactions, while non-metro city customers get five. Beyond these limits, a charge of Rs 21 per transaction applies.
SBI ATM Withdrawal Charges
State Bank of India (SBI) offers five free ATM transactions per month for customers with a monthly balance of up to Rs 25,000. After that, each withdrawal costs Rs 10 plus GST at SBI ATMs and Rs 20 plus GST at other banks' ATMs. Customers with a balance over Rs 25,000 enjoy unlimited free transactions at SBI ATMs.
