Ayushman Scheme: How Many Family Members Can Receive Free Treatment?
The central government of India operates several schemes aimed at different segments of the population, catering to various needs. One crucial aspect for everyone is maintaining good health, which often leads many to seek health insurance .
However, a significant number of people in India still cannot afford health insurance. To assist these individuals, the central government launched the Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat Yojana in 2018. This scheme provides free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh for Ayushman cardholders.
But do you know how many family members can avail the free treatment benefits under this scheme?
Interestingly, the government has not specified a limit on the number of family members eligible for free treatment. There is no cap on the number of members who can benefit from this scheme.
This insurance scheme extends its benefits to SC/ST families, landless families, daily wage laborers, and families without a male member aged between 16 and 59 years.
