The fresh CNG price hike follows the recent rise in petrol and diesel rates announced earlier on Saturday, adding further pressure on fuel expenses for commuters and vehicle owners.

Petrol and Diesel Prices Revised Upward

Fuel prices have seen another upward revision, with both petrol and diesel becoming costlier in Delhi. Petrol rates have increased by 87 paise per litre, taking the price from Rs 98.64 to Rs 99.51 per litre. Diesel prices have also risen by 91 paise, climbing from Rs 91.58 to Rs 92.49 per litre.

The continuous rise in fuel rates over the last few days has intensified worries about higher transportation expenses and growing inflation.

Updated Fuel Prices in Major Metro Cities

Current petrol prices in the four metro cities are:

  • Delhi – Rs 99.51 per litre
  • Kolkata – Rs 110.64 per litre
  • Mumbai – Rs 108.49 per litre
  • Chennai – Rs 105.31 per litre
Meanwhile, diesel prices now stand at:

  • Delhi – Rs 92.49 per litre
  • Kolkata – Rs 97.02 per litre
  • Mumbai – Rs 95.02 per litre
  • Chennai – Rs 96.98 per litre
Fuel prices differ across states due to variations in Value Added Tax (VAT) and local levies.

Third Fuel Price Hike Within 10 Days

With the latest revision, petrol, diesel and CNG prices have now been increased for the third time in under 10 days. The repeated hikes are likely to put additional financial pressure on transport services and everyday commuters, especially those using CNG vehicles in Delhi.

The ongoing rise in fuel costs continues to raise concerns over its wider impact on household budgets, travel expenses and overall cost of living.
