Rain and Thunderstorm Relief Likely

After days of relentless heat, weather experts are finally forecasting a change. A western disturbance approaching northwest India is expected to trigger thunderstorms, gusty winds, and scattered rainfall across Delhi-NCR beginning Thursday evening.

The IMD has predicted a sharp fall in temperatures by nearly 8 to 10 degrees celsius over the coming two days. Wind speeds could reach up to 50-60 kmph during the forecasted thunderstorm activity.

Areas including Noida, Gurugram, Faridabad, and Ghaziabad can witness dust storms accompanied by light to moderate rain, which will offer the much needed relief from the heat.

What is Next?

While the incoming rainfall may bring temporary relief, experts believe summer conditions will continue through early June. The IMD expects temperatures to remain around 35°C to 38°C after the rain spell before gradually rising again next week.

Residents are advised to avoid unnecessary outdoor travel during peak heat hours, and prepare for sudden dust storms and strong winds expected later this week.
