India Weather Today: The weather is set to take a dramatic turn across several parts of India today, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issuing rain and thunderstorm alerts for several states and Union Territories. From Delhi-NCR to Jammu and Kashmir, residents have been advised to stay alert as heavy rain, lightning, gusty winds and even hailstorms may affect many regions over the next few hours.

According to the IMD, wind speeds could reach up to 70 kilometres per hour in some areas, increasing the risk of disruptions. While many states are likely to receive much-needed rainfall, authorities have urged people, especially those in hilly regions, to exercise caution.

Delhi-NCR may get Relief

Residents of Delhi and adjoining National Capital Region (NCR), who are dealing with scorching heat, may get some relief from the summer heat in the coming days. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted very light to light rain accompanied by thunderstorms in the region.


The capital city, Noida, Gurugram and Ghaziabad are expected to witness cloudy skies, strong winds and isolated rain as a fresh weather system continues to affect North India.According to IMD, Delhi, Noida, Gurugram and Ghaziabad are expected to witness cloudy skies, gusty winds and isolated showers today. Light rain and thunderstorms are expected across parts of Delhi-NCR till Thursday, June 25.

Many districts in Bihar, including Patna, remain under the grip of intense heat. Residents have been struggling with high temperatures and uncomfortable weather conditions over the past few days.
