Rain, Thunderstorms and Gusty Winds Likely Across Delhi, Mumbai and Several States Today
IMD Weather Update : Weather conditions across several parts of India are likely to remain influenced by an active monsoon pattern today on Monday, June 29, with rainfall, thunderstorms and gusty winds expected in multiple regions. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast rain activity in Delhi-NCR, while Mumbai remains under a weather alert as the southwest monsoon continues to strengthen over the west coast.
The weather department has been monitoring the delayed progress of the monsoon over parts of north India, with conditions now becoming supportive for further advance in the coming days.
The Konkan region, including areas around Mumbai, is expected to see increased rainfall activity as monsoon winds strengthen along the coast.
Wind speeds reaching between 40 kmph and 60 kmph are expected in parts of Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Odisha, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh among others.
Moderate to intense lightning activity is also likely over central and eastern India during the next two to three days.
Moreover, in Assam and Meghalaya, regions including Baksa, Barpeta, Bongaigon, Chirang, Dibrugarh, East Khasi Hills, West Khasi Hills, Goalpara and Jaintia Hills can also be vulnerable to the risk of flash floods.
The IMD has forecast that monsoon conditions are likely to remain active across several parts of India, with rainfall expected across northern, eastern, central and southern regions. Thunderstorms and strong winds may accompany showers in some areas.
