Age: The girl must be between 13 and 18 years old.

Education Level: She must be enrolled in classes 8 to 12 or pursuing postgraduate studies.

Family Income: The annual income of her family should not exceed Rs 1,20,000. However, this income cap is waived for girls who have lost both parents or have a physical disability of 40% or more.

Residence: The girl must be a resident of West Bengal.

The required documents include:

1. Birth certificate of the girl.
2. Proof that the girl is unmarried.
3. Income certificate (except for renewal).
4. Bank passbook with the girl’s name, address, and account number.

How to Apply for Kanyashree Yojana

Applying for the Kanyashree Yojana is a straightforward process. Girls can obtain the application form from their school and submit it with the necessary documents. Once approved, the funds will be directly transferred to their bank account.

Alternatively, applicants can also visit the official website: www.wbkanyashree.gov.in to apply online. The same process applies for renewing the scholarship, where students must upload the relevant documents. However, for renewal, there is no need to provide an income certificate.
