Monsoon Update: Rain Alert Issued Across Seven States Over Next 24 Hours
Weather conditions across the country are changing rapidly once again, bringing renewed concerns for residents already battling harsh winter conditions. A fresh spell of rain, snowfall, and thunderstorms is expected to impact several regions over the next few days. Heavy snowfall in the northern hills has already led to a sharp dip in temperatures, while rain and strong winds are forecast to affect large parts of the plains. Authorities have advised people to remain cautious as visibility issues, cold waves, and hailstorms could disrupt daily life.
Rain And Snowfall Likely In Hill States
The hill regions are expected to bear the brunt of the changing weather. Heavy rain and snowfall are forecast in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand. Snowfall is likely in higher-altitude areas, particularly in the Kashmir Valley and elevated regions of Himachal Pradesh. These conditions could lead to slippery roads, travel disruptions, and a further drop in temperatures, intensifying the winter chill in these states.Rain Warning For Plains From Punjab To Uttar Pradesh
In the plains, a broad rain belt is expected to stretch from Punjab through Haryana and Chandigarh to Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. Light to moderate rainfall is likely in many areas, accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds. Wind speeds may reach up to 40 to 60 kilometres per hour in some pockets, increasing the risk of damage to crops and temporary structures. Hailstorms are also expected in isolated areas, raising concerns for farmers. You may also like
