Petrol, diesel prices hiked for third time this month
Petrol prices have increased by 87 paise, and diesel prices have risen by 91 paise in Delhi, marking the third hike in just 10 days. As of Saturday, the price of petrol is now Rs 99.51 per liter, while diesel costs Rs 92.49 per liter.
This is the third increase in rates since May 15.
Previous increases in fuel price
Prices increased by ₹3 per liter on May 15, when state-owned oil companies began gradually adjusting energy prices due to the conflict between the US and Israel, on the one hand, and Iran, on the other.
The second hike was by 90 paise on May 19. Overall, the rates have gone up by nearly ₹5 per liter.
Price of petrol in metro cities
With the latest increase, the retail price of petrol in Delhi stands at ₹99.51 per liter (+0.87).
In Kolkata, the price of petrol stands at ₹110.64 per liter (+0.94). In Mumbai, it is retailing for ₹108.49 per liter (+0.90).
In Chennai, petrol is available for ₹105.31 per liter (+0.82).
Besides petrol, diesel has also seen a price hike.
Price of High Speed diesel in metro cities
High Speed Diesel price in Delhi stands at ₹92.49 per liter (+0.91) as of Saturday. In Kolkata, it is ₹97.02 per liter (+0.95).
Diesel is retailing at ₹95.02 per liter (+0.94) in Mumbai, while in Chennai, it is at ₹96.98 per liter (+0.87).
CNG price was also increased by ₹1 per kilogram in Delhi. It now costs ₹81.09 per kilogram in the National Capital.
