PNB Partners With Bhashini To Bring Multilingual AI Banking Services To Customers
Punjab National Bank (PNB) has taken a step towards making digital banking more accessible by signing a Memorandum of Understanding with the Digital India Bhashini Division (DIBD). The collaboration is expected to introduce multilingual artificial intelligence capabilities across the bank's digital platforms, allowing customers to interact with banking services in several Indian languages.
The agreement was signed at PNB's Corporate Office in Dwarka, New Delhi, in the presence of senior officials from both organisations. The initiative is aimed at improving access to banking for customers who prefer using regional languages instead of English or Hindi while carrying out digital transactions.
The move is expected to support customers with varying levels of digital literacy by allowing them to communicate in the language they are most comfortable with. It also reflects the growing adoption of artificial intelligence in customer-facing financial services.
The PNB Bhashini partnership focuses on improving accessibility without changing the core banking experience. Instead, the technology is intended to remove language-related challenges that often discourage users from fully embracing digital banking platforms.
According to him, integrating advanced language technology into digital banking is expected to improve customer engagement while supporting broader financial inclusion goals.
Officials involved in the partnership also highlighted that digital services should remain accessible regardless of a person's preferred language. The project seeks to create a banking environment where customers can interact naturally without worrying about language limitations.
