Booked a Train Ticket? Here’s Why RailOne Is Becoming a Popular Railway App
Indian Railways is rapidly expanding its digital services, making it easier for passengers to manage their journeys without visiting railway counters. The RailOne app has become a major part of this shift, crossing 4.76 crore downloads and handling around 10 lakh ticket bookings every day.
Its biggest convenience is the Single Sign-On (SSO) facility. Users can log in once and access multiple railway services without maintaining separate accounts or downloading different apps.
As of August 2, RailOne was processing around 10 lakh ticket bookings daily. This included approximately 2.79 lakh reserved tickets and 7.24 lakh unreserved tickets.
Passengers can access NTES through its website, Android and iOS apps, as well as railway enquiry number 139. Features such as 'Spot Your Train', 'Live Station', 'Train Schedule' and 'Trains Between Stations' can help travellers plan their journeys better.
The Android version of the NTES app has crossed 4.5 crore downloads, while its iOS version has been downloaded around 16 lakh times. The platform handles more than 6 crore train enquiries daily, with nearly 80,000 users accessing it simultaneously.
This automatic facility applies to online e-tickets. Passengers with tickets purchased from railway reservation counters need to approach a Passenger Reservation System (PRS) counter for refunds.
