Twist in Lohagad Fort death: Police suspect victim was pushed into gorge by fiancée!
Pune: The death of Ketan Vishal Agarwal at Lohagad Fort in Pune, which was initially believed to have resulted from an accidental fall into a valley, is now being investigated as a suspected murder. Police suspect that he may have been pushed into the gorge by his fiancee and a man alleged to be her lover.
According to India Today reports, fresh evidence indicates that Agarwal's 350-foot fall was not accidental.
Agarwal had travelled to Lohagad Fort with his fiancee and a group of friends to celebrate her birthday ahead of their wedding, which was scheduled for next month. He died after falling into the gorge during the outing.
Police said the direction of the investigation changed after they found that Agarwal's fiancee was allegedly concealing certain details during questioning.
Investigators later examined her mobile phone records, social media activity and other technical evidence.The investigation reportedly revealed that she was allegedly in a relationship with another man. Based on the findings, police suspect the two may have conspired to kill Agarwal by pushing him into the valley.
The trip had been organised by Agarwal as a birthday celebration for his fiancee before their wedding. Her birthday was on June 19, and the couple had planned to marry the following month.
