Weather Update: IMD Forecasts Heatwave In North India Until June 18, Expected To Ease Thereafter

The Indian Meteorological Department ( IMD ) has issued a weather update , highlighting that heatwave conditions will continue to affect parts of North India until June 18, but a reduction in intensity is expected soon after. Meanwhile, regions in the northeast are bracing for heavy rainfall over the next few days.

Heatwave Alert in North India

The IMD has warned that several regions, including Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Gangetic West Bengal, will experience intense heatwave conditions today. The sweltering heat is also expected to impact Uttarakhand, Chhattisgarh, and Madhya Pradesh. Additionally, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Jharkhand will endure the heat from June 17 to June 18, while isolated areas in North Rajasthan, Jammu, and Himachal Pradesh will also be affected during this period. Relief from the oppressive heat is anticipated after June 18.
