LPG Cylinder OTP Not Received? Here’s Why Your Booking Verification Code May Be Delayed

With LPG cylinder bookings becoming a daily struggle for many households, OTP delays are now one of the biggest complaints among consumers. As cylinder demand rises and booking systems remain under pressure, several users have reported that the verification code either arrives very late or never reaches their phones at all.

But surprisingly, the issue may not always be with the gas company. In many cases, your smartphone settings could be blocking the OTP without you realizing it.

Weak Network Can Delay OTPs

Poor mobile signal is one of the most common reasons behind delayed OTP messages. If your area has unstable connectivity, the SMS may take time to arrive or fail completely.

A quick trick that often works is turning Aeroplane Mode on for a few seconds and then switching it off again. This refreshes the network connection and may instantly restore message delivery.

DND Mode Could Be Blocking Messages

Many smartphones automatically restrict calls and SMS alerts when ‘Do Not Disturb’ mode is enabled. This can silently block OTP messages from reaching your inbox.

If you are unable to receive the verification code while booking an LPG cylinder, check your phone settings and disable DND mode immediately.

Full Inbox? New Messages May Not Arrive

An overloaded SMS inbox can also create problems. When storage space for messages is full, new texts may stop appearing on the device.

Deleting unnecessary old messages can free up space and help fresh OTPs arrive without interruption.

Heavy Server Load Can Also Cause Delays

Sometimes the problem genuinely lies with the LPG booking system. During peak booking hours, company servers may experience technical glitches or heavy traffic, slowing down OTP generation and delivery.

In such cases, waiting for a while and trying again later is usually the best option.

New LPG Cylinder Booking Rules You Should Know

The government has also introduced updated booking timelines for domestic LPG cylinders.
  • Urban consumers can book the next cylinder only after 25 days from the previous delivery date.
  • Rural consumers must wait at least 45 days before placing another booking request.
These rules have been introduced to regulate supply and prevent misuse.

OTP Mandatory for Cylinder Delivery

To control black marketing and unauthorized delivery of domestic LPG cylinders, OTP verification has now become compulsory.

After booking a cylinder, customers receive a code on their registered mobile number. This OTP must be shared with the delivery agent at the time of delivery. Without the code, the cylinder will not be handed over.
