Madhya Pradesh: A burglary at the home of a homemaker and YouTuber in Madhya Pradesh's Shivpuri district has drawn attention to the potential risks of sharing details of personal wealth and home interiors on social media.

According to police, unidentified burglars allegedly entered the house of YouTuber Rachna Gurjar in Mohani village during the early hours of Saturday. The intruders reportedly locked Gurjar and her family inside a room before fleeing with gold and silver jewellery, cash and other valuables. The total loss is estimated at between Rs 8 lakh and Rs 10 lakh.

Gurjar told police that the incident occurred around 2 am while the family was asleep. The burglars allegedly took away jewellery, cash and even a carton of energy drink. She also claimed that the accused tampered with the CCTV cameras, possibly using a stick, to prevent their faces from being recorded.

The family became aware of the burglary around 4 am when they found themselves locked inside the room. They contacted relatives, who arrived at the house, opened the door and helped them out.

Shivpuri Additional Superintendent of Police Sanjiv Mule confirmed that a case has been registered and that efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the accused.

Investigators are examining CCTV footage from the residence. One clip reportedly shows a masked individual adjusting the angle of a surveillance camera, apparently to avoid identification. Police suspect the accused may be from the same village or a nearby area and could have been familiar with the family's routine and the layout of the house.

The investigation is also focusing on the possible role of social media. Gurjar, who has more than one lakh followers online, had recently shared videos featuring her home, jewellery, cash and lifestyle. Some videos reportedly included detailed views of different parts of the house and displayed valuables kept inside.

Police sources believe such content may have provided information about the house layout, valuables and security arrangements, potentially helping the burglars plan the crime.

Authorities are continuing their investigation to identify the suspects seen in the CCTV footage. The incident has also highlighted growing concerns about the security risks associated with publicly sharing details of wealth and private residences on social media platforms.
