The Amarnath Yatra 2026 has commenced today, July 3. In this regard, the Jammu and Kashmir administration has issued a crucial advisory. The Department of Information and Public Relations, Jammu and Kashmir, took to its official social media platform, X, to urge pilgrims not to arrive in Jammu and Kashmir for the pilgrimage without advance registration. The department emphasized that adhering to established rules is essential for ensuring a safe and organized pilgrimage.

**Permission granted to a fixed number of pilgrims daily**

The administration stated that, in accordance with Supreme Court directives, only a limited number of pilgrims are permitted to proceed along the Amarnath Yatra route each day. This arrangement is designed to ensure the safety and convenience of travelers and the smooth conduct of the pilgrimage. Consequently, the number of people allowed to undertake the journey in a single day cannot exceed the prescribed limit.

**Obtain advance registration**

The department noted that the facility for advance registration—available through various bank branches across the country and online platforms—had been launched well before the commencement of the pilgrimage. A large number of pilgrims have already registered. As a result, very few slots remain available for immediate (on-the-spot) registration, making it impossible to grant immediate permission to all pilgrims arriving without prior registration.

The administration has clearly stated that pilgrims arriving in Jammu and Kashmir without advance registration will have to wait for their turn. Since on-the-spot registration facilities are limited, it is not possible to accommodate everyone immediately. Such pilgrims are urged to maintain patience and follow the procedures established by the administration.

**Travel not permitted before the scheduled date**
