Even as ' Welcome To The Jungle ' continues its successful run at the box office, director Ahmed Khan has confirmed that the franchise is far from over. The filmmaker revealed that work on ' Welcome 4 ' is already underway, signalling that Akshay Kumar and the popular comedy series are set to return for another instalment.

The announcement comes after 'Welcome To The Jungle', the third film in the franchise, crossed the Rs 100 crore mark at the domestic box office, giving a fresh boost to one of Bollywood's most-loved comedy franchises.

Ahmed Khan reveals what's nextDuring a conversation with Koimoi, Ahmed Khan opened up about his upcoming projects. While discussing his future plans, the director first spoke about launching his son before confirming that another 'Welcome' film is next on his slate.

"Look, there are two or three things - I want my son to get launched now. I've got to launch this 25-year-old. So, I'm going to launch Azaan." He then confirmed the next major project, saying, "Next film will be 'Welcome'. That's the next part!"

His statement effectively puts an end to speculation surrounding the future of the franchise, with 'Welcome 4' now officially in development.

Several big projects on Ahmed Khan's slateApart from the next 'Welcome' film, Ahmed Khan revealed that he is simultaneously working on multiple large-scale projects with some of Bollywood's biggest producers.

"There's one film which is with Firoze Nadiadwala, and there's one film which is in the pipeline, which starts with Sajid Nadiadwala. So, there are a couple of films which I'm currently pondering on."

While the filmmaker refrained from sharing further details, his comments indicate a packed schedule with several commercial entertainers in various stages of development.
