Consequently, ATMs in these areas are running out of cash quickly.

CATMi states that when ATMs shut down due to cash shortages, operators incur losses on transaction and interchange fees. The industry claims to have suffered losses exceeding ₹100 crore due to this issue and has consequently demanded compensation from the banking system.
