Bank Holiday: Banks to remain closed for three consecutive days starting June 26..
If you need to visit a bank branch for tasks like depositing cash, clearing cheques, or getting a demand draft made, this is crucial information for you. In the last week of June, banking operations will remain suspended for three consecutive days across several states in the country. Bank branches will remain completely closed from June 26 to June 28. However, for the convenience of customers, digital banking and ATM services will continue to operate round-the-clock without interruption during this period.
**Holidays begin on June 26**
According to the Reserve Bank of India's (RBI) official holiday calendar, all public and private sector banks across the country will remain open as usual from June 22 to June 25 (Thursday) of this week. All routine banking services will function normally during these four days.
The series of holidays actually begins on June 26 (Friday), when banks in many states and cities will observe a holiday for Muharram. Please note that this holiday is not observed nationwide simultaneously; therefore, customers should check the bank holiday list specific to their local city. The very next day, June 27, banks across the country will remain closed as it is the fourth Saturday of the month. This is followed by the weekly Sunday holiday on June 28. Consequently, in states where Muharram is observed on Friday, bank branches will remain closed for three consecutive days.
