According to the official memorandum issued by the government, the fixed monthly honorarium for Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHA) has been raised from ₹6,250 to ₹11,250. This increase is in addition to their performance-based incentives, further boosting their total earnings.

Meanwhile, Anganwadi workers and helpers operating under the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) have also received significant relief. As per the order, the monthly honorarium for Anganwadi workers has been increased to ₹14,000, while Anganwadi helpers will now receive ₹11,800 per month.

**Why is this significant?**

ASHA and Anganwadi workers are considered the backbone of the country's health and nutrition systems. These workers play a crucial role in vaccination drives, maternal and child care, nutrition programs, and public health services across both rural and urban areas. They had long been demanding an increase in their honorarium. Consequently, this move by the state government will not only raise their income but also boost their morale.
