Bookies reveal 10 stars most likely to be the next James Bond

The race to replace Daniel Craig has officially begun

The 10 most likely actors to be the next 007 have been revealed by a bookies. Ladbrokes has shared the actors with the highest odds to become Bond.

Daniel Craig had been in the role of James Bond since the release of Casino Royale in 2006. His most recent outing as the MI6 agent was in 2021's No Time To Die.

Craig's casting as the sixth Bond was controversial at first, with campaigns to replace him like danielcraigisnotbond.com and threats of boycotts. He was not considered right for the role by fans due to his being 5ft 10in and blond, rather than "tall, dark, and handsome".

The next Bond film is now in development at Amazon's MGM Studios. Directed by Denis Villeneuve and written by Steven Knight, the new film will replace Craig as the beloved spy.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said of the odds: "The race to replace Daniel Craig as 007 has arguably never been as wide-open. 10 names are currently 14/1 or shorter for the role, and while Callum Turner continues to lead the way, plenty of big names are among the firm frontrunners."

Here are the 10 actors with the highest odds to become James Bond.

Theo James has 14/1 odds to become 007. He has starred in the Divergent franchise, The Monkey, The Time Traveller's Wife, and The Gentleman series. He was Emmy-nominated for his role in The White Lotus.

Also with 12/1 odds is Damson Idris. He has starred in Black Mirror, F1, The Commuter, and Outside the Wire. His role in the series Snowfall earned him 11 nominations, of which he won five.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson, with 12/1 odds, started his career in Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging, John Lennon biopic Nowhere Boy, and Kick-Ass. He has gone on to star in Anna Karenina, Nocturnal Animals, Nosferatu, Bullet Train, and 28 Years Later.

With 11/1 odds is Josh O'Connor, who gained recognition in The Durrells. He won an Emmy, a Golden Globe, and a Critics' Choice Award for his role as Prince Charles in The Crown and has gone on to star in Emma, La Chimera, Challengers, and Disclosure Day.

One of the more controversial choices for 007 would be Jacob Elordi. The Australian has 10/1 odds and has starred in Euphoria, Saltburn, Frankenstein, Priscilla, and Wuthering Heights. He has been nominated for an Oscar, BAFTAs, and Golden Globes.

Henry Cavill, with 10/1 odds to become Bond, gained wide recognition for playing Superman. He has starred as a spy multiple times, in The Man from U.N.C.L.E., Mission Impossible: Fallout, and Argyle.
