Comedian Navin Prabhakar recalls late comic Raju Srivastava: says "He was not only my fellow comedian; he was a great colleague"
Success for comedian Navin Prabhakar isn’t just about accolades, sold out venues, or television appearances. Some of the most memorable times for him are when he formed bonds with friends and associates during what he calls “the golden age of Indian comedy .”
Recollecting some of these friendships, Navin recalls late comic Raju Srivastava and all the traveling they did together in their comedy shows in India and even other parts of the world.

Speaking on this, Navin recollects that “It was a lot of fun working with Rajubhai. We have performed in so many cities in India as well as abroad. We have travelled the world together, we have shared so many stages.”
The comedian went ahead to explain that during their career's prime, everything used to happen very fast. Performances, tours, television appearances, and international performances kept the comedians always on the go. Documentation was the least thing they used to do since there used to be always other shows waiting for them somewhere else.
Navin says that he regrets not being able to document all the memorable moments of that time. "We did not think about photographing ourselves during our prime days. If only we could have saved some of these moments in our lives," said Navin.
For Navin, those days were exceptional. They used to travel together as comedians, perform shows one after another and entertain people in various countries.
Recalling the bond that existed outside all the fame and glory, Navin remarked, "What I can remember the most is not the fame or the acclaim but rather the togetherness we had being artists and friends. The fun did not stop after the performance. The trips, talks, and our friendship made those years extra special."
Even today, when Navin reflects upon those years, what comes foremost to his mind is not his success but the bonds that he formed during those times. The memories are a reminder for him to be grateful and inspired.
