Covid-19: 339 Corona cases reported in July, infection reaches Delhi too; is the pandemic returning?
The mere mention of the coronavirus brings back memories of the 2020–23 period, when the virus brought the world to a near-standstill. Corona is once again a topic of discussion. A report published in *Amar Ujala* highlighted that approximately 80,000 infection cases were reported in China during June. Beyond China, fear regarding the coronavirus has also been observed among people in India over the past few weeks.
According to a report by the news agency PTI, approximately 339 cases of coronavirus were reported across the country between July 1 and July 16. Kerala recorded the highest number of cases at 115. This was followed by Karnataka (64), Maharashtra (43), Tamil Nadu (39), Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Delhi (18 each), Rajasthan (12), and cases in a few other states.
Discussions had intensified earlier in June following the emergence of infection cases in Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra. In Andhra Pradesh, 12 people have tested positive for the infection so far, while the virus has claimed four lives.
