Did Yash Drop A Hint About Kiara Advani And Nayanthara's Powerful Roles In Toxic: A Fairy Tale For Grown Ups?

Newspoint

Yash’s Toxic: A Fairy Tale For Grown Ups is said to be far more than a conventional gangster drama. While the film already carries the scale and darkness associated with the genre, Yash recently opened up about what truly separates the project from similar stories audiences have seen over the years. Speaking about director Geetu Mohandas’s storytelling approach, the actor explained that the emotional perspective brought into the film, especially through its women characters, changes the texture of the narrative entirely. According to him, toxicity is not built around spectacle alone but around emotionally layered individuals trying to survive power, violence, and complicated human dynamics.

Explores The Gangster World Through A Female Perspective

During a recent interaction with Variety India, Yash reflected on Geetu Mohandas’s approach to storytelling and why her vision brings a different emotional intensity to the gangster genre.

The actor pointed out that cinema has often explored the darker side of humanity through male perspectives, but Toxic attempts to enter that space differently. Speaking about the filmmaker’s understanding of emotions, Yash said, “A lot of men have had the opportunity to talk about the gangster world or the dark side of humans. But when somebody like Geetu, whose take on emotions is very deep, enters that space, every scene takes a different turn.”

The statement offers a clearer idea of the film’s emotional tone, especially since Toxic has largely remained under wraps despite being one of the most anticipated projects in production right now.

Yash Says The Women In Toxic Are Emotionally Complex And Powerful

One of the more revealing aspects of Yash’s conversation revolved around the women characters in the film. According to the actor, the female characters are not positioned as decorative additions to the story. Instead, they exist as individuals carrying their own agency, politics and survival instincts within a violent world.

Yash explained that the film features women who are emotionally resilient, independent and capable of surviving difficult situations on their own terms.

He further added that every human being in the story carries a different form of violence and emotional complexity, which becomes even more compelling when explored through women characters and their perspectives.
