Ingredients You’ll Need

For the dough:

  • 1 cup milk powder
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour (maida)
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 2 tbsp ghee
  • 3-4 tbsp milk (as needed for soft dough)

For sugar syrup:

  • 1.5 cups sugar
  • 1.5 cups water
  • 3-4 cardamom pods
  • 1 tsp rose water (optional but recommended)
  • A few saffron strands (optional)

For frying:

Ghee or oil

1. Prepare the sugar syrup

In a pan, add sugar and water. Heat until the sugar dissolves completely. Add cardamom pods and let it simmer for 5-7 minutes. Turn off the heat and add rose water and saffron. Keep it warm, not boiling.
