After winning attention as the dark and calculated Arjun Suri in TV’s Naagin 7 , actor Mohit Jaswani is set for a shift in tone. The actor confirmed his entry into the upcoming romantic drama Sairaab , starring Rohit Chandel and Madirakshi Mundle in lead roles.

According to sources, Mohit will play Madirakshi’s on-screen stepson in the show, which is the Hindi remake of the Kannada hit Manasella Neene . Sairaab is slated to premiere on June 2.

Speaking about the new project, Mohit said moving away from the negative space has been refreshing.

“After playing a negative role in Naagin 7, stepping into something completely different feels like a breath of fresh air. I’ve always believed every character teaches you something, even the darker ones, but honestly, I missed playing someone good—someone the audience can root for and see themselves in,” he said.

“That’s why I’m genuinely excited for my upcoming show Sairaab. This time, I get to portray a positive role , someone layered but rooted in hope, kindness, and strength. It’s a new challenge, a new energy, and I can’t wait for my audience to see this side of me on screen.”

Mohit began his television journey with Kumkum Bhagya and has since appeared in shows like Bhagwan Jhulelal Sai. He credits his role in Naagin 7 for letting him explore a grey, psychological character, but says he’s glad he isn’t being typecast.

“I’m happy for not being typecast as an actor. It means I still get to be unpredictable, even to myself. Too many people get reduced to one note they hit once and liked it enough to play forever. The box is comfortable, I get it. It comes with expectations, with a script people already know how to read. But comfort is also where growth goes to sleep,” he said.

“I’d rather be misread a hundred times than be understood instantly and never again. Not fitting neatly into a category keeps the door open for the parts of me that haven’t shown up yet. It keeps the work messy, honest, and mine. So let the roles stay unassigned. Let people be surprised. I’m not here to be a type. I’m here to be a range, and ranges don’t fit on casting sheets.”

In Naagin 7, Mohit played Arjun, the younger brother of Aryaman Suri, played by Namik Paul.

Sairaab will feature Rohit Chandel as a popular singing sensation navigating fame and emotional turmoil, while Madirakshi Mundle plays a pivotal character intertwined with the musical world.
