Good news for air travelers! Air India may resume flights; operations had been suspended due to high fuel costs..
Air India CEO and Managing Director Campbell Wilson has stated that if the current trends—specifically the easing of airspace restrictions due to a de-escalation of conflict in West Asia and the softening of jet fuel prices—continue, the airline may reverse the cuts made to international flights in recent months. This could lead to the resumption of flights to certain cities. Last month, the Tata Group-owned airline had reduced international flights by 27 percent due to airspace restrictions and rising jet fuel prices; high fuel costs had driven up operating expenses on international routes.
Additionally, the airline had temporarily reduced domestic flights by 22 percent to cope with the impact of high fuel prices. Wilson has now informed employees that the conflict in West Asia has subsided. While there is no guarantee that tensions will not rise again, the current stable environment has made more airspace available and led to a significant drop in fuel prices.

He stated that if this trend continues, the airline might be able to reverse some of the flight schedule cuts made in recent months. "I am sure you, like me, are hoping for this to happen as soon as possible," he said. Following the escalation of tensions in West Asia, airspace restrictions were imposed in several areas, and jet fuel prices surged. Fuel accounts for over 40 percent of the airline's total operating costs; however, fuel prices have now softened somewhat.
