Sugar Stock Limit News 2026: In a move aimed at preventing hoarding and controlling rising sugar prices, the Central Government has announced fresh stock limits for sugar traders across the country. The new rules will come into effect from August 1, 2026, and remain applicable until November 30, 2026. Under the revised guidelines, dealers will be allowed to store sugar only for a limited period and within a prescribed quantity, while weekly stock reporting will also become mandatory.
The government believes these measures will improve the availability of sugar in the market and discourage speculative trading.
Sugar Stock Limits to Apply NationwideThe Department of Food and Public Distribution has introduced stock limits for sugar dealers across India for a period of four months.
