Ingredients

To make this easy mango custard, you’ll need the following ingredients:

2 ripe mangoes (medium-sized)
2 cups of milk
3 tablespoons of custard powder (vanilla flavor)
4 tablespoons of sugar (adjust to taste)
1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract (optional)
Fresh mint leaves or a few slices of mango for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Mangoes

Peel the mangoes and cut the flesh into small cubes. Set aside half of the mango cubes for garnishing later.

Take the remaining mango cubes and blend them into a smooth puree using a blender or food processor.

Step 2: Make the Custard

In a small bowl, mix the custard powder with 1/4 cup of cold milk to form a smooth paste. This step ensures that the custard powder dissolves properly and prevents lumps.

In a medium saucepan, heat the remaining milk over medium heat. Stir occasionally to prevent the milk from burning at the bottom.

Once the milk is warm (not boiling), add the sugar and stir until it dissolves completely.

Gradually add the custard powder mixture to the warm milk, stirring continuously to avoid lumps. Keep stirring until the mixture thickens to a custard-like consistency, which should take about 5-7 minutes.

Remove the saucepan from heat and let the custard cool down to room temperature.

Step 3: Combine Mango and Custard

Once the custard has cooled, gently fold in the mango puree. Mix well until you achieve a uniform mango custard.

If you like, add a splash of vanilla extract for an extra layer of flavor.

Step 4: Chill and Serve

Pour the mango custard into serving bowls or glasses.
