Step 1: Prepare the Batter

Beat the eggs and sugar together until the mixture becomes pale, thick, and fluffy. This step is important because it helps the cake stay light and soft.

Sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Gently fold the dry ingredients into the egg mixture. Add vanilla extract and mix lightly. Do not overmix or the cake may turn dense.

Pour the batter evenly into the lined tray and spread it gently. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes. The cake should spring back lightly when touched.

Step 4: Prepare the Filling
Whip the fresh cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla until soft peaks form. Do not overwhip.

Step 5: Fill and Roll Again


Carefully unroll the cooled cake. Spread the whipped cream evenly over the surface, leaving a small border around the edges.

Roll the cake back gently without the towel this time. Wrap it in parchment paper and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to set.

Final Touch

Dust with powdered sugar or drizzle melted chocolate on top. Slice with a sharp knife and serve.
