'India, this is unbelievable': American woman stunned by Mumbai's free home blood test service that costs 10 times more in the US
'Someone came home to collect my blood sample': American woman can't believe this everyday service in Mumbai
Sometimes it takes an outsider to remind us that the things we take for granted aren't actually common everywhere.
That's exactly what happened after an American content creator living in Mumbai shared her surprise over something many Indians barely think twice about - a home blood sample collection .

Liz, a US-based creator currently staying in Mumbai, posted a video on Instagram describing what she expected would be a routine visit to a diagnostic centre. Instead, she discovered that the test could be done without stepping outside her apartment.
And that's what completely caught her off guard.
According to Liz, she called a healthcare facility to book a blood test, assuming she would need to travel there, wait for her turn and get the sample collected. Instead, she was told that a healthcare worker would visit her home.
"India, this is unbelievable," she says in the video, clearly impressed by how simple the process turned out to be.
She explained that within a short time, a technician arrived at her apartment, collected the blood sample in just a couple of minutes and left. There was no waiting room, no appointment delays and, perhaps most surprisingly for her, no extra charge for the doorstep service.
For Liz, that was the biggest shock.
In the caption accompanying her video, she revealed that the blood test itself cost around one-tenth of what she would typically pay in the United States. Because of the lower price, she assumed home collection would come at an additional cost.
It didn't.
"The test was already one-tenth the price of what it costs in the US," she wrote, adding that she was convinced the convenience of home collection would be billed separately. Instead, she found out it was included.
Her reaction quickly struck a chord online.
While international viewers were fascinated, many Indians jumped into the comments to point out that home sample collection has become fairly common across cities, especially with diagnostic labs offering doorstep services through apps and phone bookings.
Some users said experiences like these often go unnoticed because people living in India have grown accustomed to them.
