Following her social media post about the matter and public backlash, Alexander issued a formal apology to the actress and online personality.Now, according to a new post shared by Stodden, the actor donated thousands of dollars to Unchained at Last , a nonprofit organisation that works toward ending child marriage in the US. She shared in her post that, “I want to sincerely thank him for choosing to turn words into action. Accountability isn’t about public punishment—it’s about taking meaningful steps that can help create change. My hope has always been bigger than my own story. In one scene, the actor rubbed a telephone on her chest and commented that there was “plenty” of signal coming from there; however, when he did the same to her head, he stated that he could not get any signal from there. Sharing a photo from the skit, Stodden called out the actor, along with all the adults who were part of the show and allowed it to happen.Her post read, “I was a minor. The contracts were signed by adults”, further adding that the money did not even go to her, and was instead transferred to her husband.For the unversed, Courtney Stodden married actor David Hutchison when she was only 16 years old, while he was 51, after her parents consented to the union. They stayed together until 2017, when they officially split, and formally finalised their divorce in 2020. Since then, Stodden has been a vocal advocate for stopping underage marriages across the country and has openly supported various organisations working toward the same cause.
